A few weeks ago, Sam and I watched this movie 'Vivo', when it digitally released on August 6, 2021, on Netflix! We both lapped it up 😆, and watched it repeatedly, over the following weekends! Do watch the movie. It's lovely!

A song from it, just stuck with me! Its title! Its melody!....'One more song, just one more song...!'

And everytime it came up, it would connect with my core, so intensely; I would instantly feel a surge of electrifying charge to my being!

I couldn't remember the rest of the lyrics, just that very potent repetitive...One more song! One more song! One more song! Just one more song!

Yesterday, Sam and I were planning on working on a Keyboards' Duet. His choice of song?...One More Song! 😆 ...our uncanny soul connection!

A natural born leader, he tasked me (his mother - the personified leader 😆!) with the melody, and decided that, he is naturally better at the rhythm and accompaniment! I loved his confidence!

I decided to deligently work on the melody, and started with reading the lyrics, and listening to the song. Boom! That electrifying surge of energy again! I got bombarded with much inspirational download, that kept me up all night!

The most important impact that the lyrics had on me, was it reminded me of someone very special to me - my first music teacher, Aunty Nancy Castellino ❤️. And the timing was spot on, because in that moment I realised, today is Sept. 4th - her birthday! What magical synchronicity!

She was a beautiful soul, an inspiration - My inspiration! She gave to me, much more than music! She recognised in me, a severely quiet, seemingly lost soul, seeking direction, and struggling with expression. She gave me a voice through music, which transformed all areas of my life! I was only 7 years old 😊. She left her beautiful impression on my heart, mind, soul!

My first dream career as a child, was to be an inspirational music teacher, like her. In 2015, when I let her know that I had started teaching music, she was super happy. She revealed she had recently stopped teaching, due to health challenges. We lost her to cancer, in May 2017, a deeply overwhelming week for me emotionally, as my childhood memories of her, flooded my heart and mind.

The lyrics of 'One More Song' resonate with me, and my journey, on so mnay levels! Hence, the connect and the stirring that I feel, everytime I hear it.

The lyrics aptly describe Aunty Nancy's musical soul and legacy, the beautiful angelic role she played in my life, and also the legacy, that I intend to build for myself, as I walk the path, she started me off on! The way I remember her, is exactly how I would like to be remembered, when I'm gone!

These past few months, I had been meaning to start a Music Blog, to journal my musical journey and passion for all things music, but, the procrastination had been holding me back!

Today, as I listened to this song repeatedly, and thought of Aunty Nancy, I felt an unstoppable, urgent palpable urge to finally make a start. What better day, could this have transpired on, than on her birthday - my humble tribute to her musical legacy!

Pianistically yours!

Larissa

One More Song! (Lyrics): Music, Lyrics, and performed by Lin-Manuel Miranda (I love the Lyrics and Melody ❤️.)

...Dedicated to Aunty Nancy Castellino, in loving memory of her beautiful angelic musical soul...Happy Birthday darling Aunty Nancy ❤️!

YOU SPENT YOUR LIFE MAKING MUSIC.

I thought the songs would never end.

Now, it's so quiet!

All I wanna do is play again with you, my friend.

You fell asleep humming music.

The sun came up, you stayed at rest.

Now, here I am!

All I have left is one request.

One more song, just one more!

Give us an encore.

Don't go away! WE STILL HAVE MUSIC TO PLAY.

Hey, I said...

One more song, just one more!

All that I long for!

Give me a sign! It's not too late! It's not too late!!!

IF YOU LIVE ON, IT'S THROUGH YOUR MUSIC!

(One more song, one more song)

A song for someone else to hear.

(One more song, one more song)

So, I'll take it home where it belongs.

(One more song, one more song)

All I have to do is SING LOUDER THAN MY FEAR!

I need you here for...

One more song, just one more!

You need an encore.

I need to go, get there in time for the show.

Let everybody know there's...

One more song, just one more!

❤️"Time to be strong for the journey ahead.

Sing through the doubt!

Sign through the dread, with a scream and a shout!

Break through the fear, like the sun through the clouds!

Like you're still here, no crying allowed!

I'll try to get out, I'll try to be strong!

Yes, I'm moving on!

It's time for one more song!!!" ❤️

So thoughtful… It’s well articulated and from the heart. Some people leave behind a legacy , which inspires one to not only remember what positive impact it has on the person but to re-live the moments in the present.
